MS upgrade advisor indicated the driver for my Intel motherboard is not compatible with Windows 7. Gateway won't advise if they have an appropriate driver to download (I only want the address of a link to get it) 'cause I'm out of warranty. Anyone know how I can get a compatible driver for my Intel motherboard?

Gateway may not have a driver update available for your system.

Knowing which MB will help find out if there is something to be done, hm?

If the MS advisor said you weren't up to spec, I'd tend to believe, but by no means makes this impossible.

I'll mark this open to encourage those with Win7 experience to come take a look.

Its hard to believe that Intel isnt compatible doe sit say MB or something on the MB? Ho wold is the pc?

Problem is, Intel doesn't make MB drivers for Gateway.....Gateway does, at least according to Intel. Win. 7 upgrade advisor merely says, "The driver installed for this device is not compatible with Windows 7." My experience with Gateway tech. support hasn't been the greatest!

So, what happens if you install Windows 7 (clean install), and then only install the drivers from Microsoft Update?

Intel says they don't make drivers for Gateway machine MB's. My experience with Gateway tech. support doesn't drive me to wanting to spend a few dollars a minute to communicate with them.
