ok got it scanning now.
Another question do you know if i will be able to install the student version of 7 (think it might just be an upgrade ,not sure though) on my pre release version of 7? I have downloaded the ISO 32bit 7 file from digitalriver.com put it on disc and tried installing it on my pc but it comes up with:

Error Creating Process
<C:Users\andy\appdata\local\temp\IXP000.TMP\setup. cmd>.
Reason: The system cannot find the file specified

also the 'ISO' file that i downloaded turned out to be .exe and .iso ?? dont know if that matters...

I'm sorry, but I don't know your Win7 answer. I have no experience with the student version although I might find the answer later when I get a chance to Google it.

Use the ISO and write a CD

malwarebytes is scanning my computer now but its taking forever. i scanned the D: and it found loads of trojans. doing the C: now
