Hi georgeks,
I beg to differ on this occasion.
He simply says he is having the same problem as on the other thread.
On the other thread the rather silly thing is that everyone concentrated on perhaps swapping the video card, and I quote from Madmonkey
An alternative to replacing the motherboard, would be just to purchase an alternative AGP or PCI-E graphics card. We can talk you through fitting this card.
That machine is a laptop - like to see you change the AGP or PCI-E card in that one!
EDIT: Marked as Answered.
The end result was infact faulty hardware covered under HP's warranty - a problem that is a common DV issue.
Based on the information given by the poster there simply is not enough information to work out whether or not the system has actually booted up - is this a Windows settings fault, or is it a hardware fault that derived from a board failure or a video chip failure.
Perhaps a question to clear that up was needed - ie after you press the power button can you see the POST screen? If not most likely there is a hardware fault. If yes, maybe either - guess it goes on from there.
You have assumed the system will boot - it may not, that is my point.
Hope that explains why I asked those questions.
