Here's the KB article from Microsoft on using System Restore...

Use System Restore to Undo Changes if Problems Occur

i tried it before posting this i am going to try again later but any other solutions i guess it was CCleaner i was scanning the entire registry and i guess some of those shortcuts were listed
can i also get a picture(copy) of the check settings for each scan for windows, applications and registry settings i want to prevent this again

If you have used the Registry Integrity tool in CCleaner, you will be able to undo the changes it made to the registry.

The CCleaner reg backups are stored here C:\Program Files\CCleaner\Reg Backups use the the last one you saved before the problems started...

go to

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories

OR

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories

if it is not the owner's account.

All of those icons in there is shortcuts... so you still have those programs. Go to your Windows folder, find the files with the paint, calc, etc. icon on it and shortcut it to the Accessories folder.
