Default Running Sage Payroll on VISTA

I have to buy a new laptop ( FUJITSU SIEMENS AMILO LI 2727/1 ) which unfortunately only comes with VISTA Home Basic.
Sage 50 Payroll 2008 advise that they prefer to run on XP although will work with Vista. I am already running this program on my XP computer.
Can I dump everything from HDD and load XP onto the laptop. I have CD windows update 2 for XP.

Hi,

I have CD windows update 2 for XP
Is this just the Service Pack or is it the full XP installation? If it's the service pack only then no, you won't be able to install it. You may have to buy yoursel a new copy of XP for this...

It looks like this application can be run in Vista with success: Amazon.co.uk: Sage 50 Payroll 2008 upto 50 Employees 1 Company (PC): Software - certainly worth testing it (with backups of course) before you go spending out on that XP disc
