Windows Tutorials - Boot XP FAST! posted in the Tutorials forums; Oh. Does that mean that there's no use in doing this? Cus I was curious and did the steps, and the pc seems to boot up slightly faster. I'm using ...

Oh no, it will still improve your boot speed but I believe that information since has shown me that ntosboot gets re-written upon shutdown. You could use a simple batch file, such as:

del c:\windows\prefetch\ntosboot-*.* /q
to run on every shutdown...but it's a bit of a pain to do this now. More RAM and a faster CPU is the answer

I didn't had a pain doing this though XD

And my CPU (5600+) and RAM (2GB) is enough XD

My system is not slow, but faster is better right?

And in this case, I also want to learn from the tutorial, rather than to just improve the speed.
