Smile How to change your Desktop Background

Like many of you i like to change my desktop wallpaper every so often. Unfortunatly many people are non technically minded (and i say that with the upmost respect ). This tutorial aims to teach you how to change your desktops wallpaper.

1) Click on The Start Menu, and scroll to Settings (Note if you have the Windows XP style enabled, this will be Start and then Control Panel)

2) Double Click on Display

3) Click on the Desktop Tab

make your selection by browsing through the pre defined images, or hit Browse and why not use that nice photo you have just snapped up using your digital camera? Once you have made your selection, hit Apply and then hit OK. Click on the X in the upper right hand corner to close Control Panel and see the changes.

Default Nice and Basic

Nice and Basic MadGamer but very helpful to some people.

I'd like to also point out that you can also just right-click anywhere on the desktop and then click properties and then on the desktop tab.

Thanks for posting this MG.

But might I suggest some changes and additions?

Most people wont be using the classic start menu so it would probably be better to give instructions for the XP start menu, and add a comment for the classic startmenu. So the opposite of what it is now.

Same for the control panel, you are using classic view wich most people wont be using. They would have to first select "Appearance and themes" and then either "display" or "Change the desktop background".

I would also add what Upgrader posted about rightclicking on the desktop, and also that you can just rightclick a picture and select "Set as desktop background".
