Have you received an error message in Windows and quickly looked for a pen to write down the error? Yes?
There is an easier way to do it:
The next time an error dialog box pops up, press Ctrl+C. This keyboard shortcut copies the text of the error message. Open Notepad, Wordpad, Microsoft Word or any text editors, and paste the error's message (Ctrl+V). Now you can save the message for reference.
You may also choose to capture a screenshot of the error message. Left click on your Desktop. Press Ctrl+C..This makes a copy of your Desktop.
Next press Start and go to Run. Type in
mspaint. This will open the Paint program.
Press Ctrl+V.
This will paste the image created above into the Paint Program.
Do a
Save as of the image to your Desktop. Call it
Image1.
Cut off the excess of the image in the Paint program so only the Error message appears.
Once you are happy with the picture, do a
Save As to the Desktop. Call it
Image2.
Now open the
Image2 to verify that it looks like you want it to. Remember, you can always start over with
Image1. So don't delete
Image1 until this problem is fixed.
This comes in useful when contacting Tech Support because you can use specific error codes and keywords from the error message to help identify the problem.
