Hey hderr!
Welcome to PC Helpforum!

I'd suggest you to change things under the Start-Up tab only.

If you're not sure what the processes contain, you can Google on the names, or ask here on PC Helpforum.com

Apart from the obvious mentioned above, I would recommend going to....... Trend Micro HouseCall - Start

This is a great little site which will get rid of all those nasty infections. Bookmark it and you will always go back.

For computer maintenance I also recommend a great utility called TuneUp Utilities 2006. It's not completely free, as you have a 30 day trial. But its great to use within that time, and you could buy it if you want (Worth the money) It does everything, and I mean everything.

I also use CCleaner , Ad-Aware, And Mcafee internet security suite.

I do have one question and that is, do you think I should use any other software apart from just Mcafee to protect myself? Or is the security suite good enough on its own?

What about Tune Up Utilities 2006?

I find this program very useful.

It lets you do -

Disk Cleaner
Registry Cleaner
Registry Defrag
1-Click Maintenance

And its got some other cool features, like sorting out your StartUp options etc.

Anyone else use this?

CCleaner is a great prog that I always download after a fresh install of XP. However, I wouldn't recommend using it for your Registry cleaning. Get a specalised registry cleaner for that task.

Default Not a waste

Thanks spaceman for showing me I'm not waisting my time. I was doing this for the past year and started thinking maybe I'm waisting my time, but seeing someone else post the same thing sure makes me feel better.
