OS: Win2k3.
After running a registry cleaner(Advance System Care), I cannot see desktop icons and taskbar or explorer windows.
However, the data on this server is accessible via Remote Desktop and via network. All Remote Desktop sessions are also seeing a blank screen. Thru Task Manager we were able to run some tasks very tediously, though.
The explorer.exe was not running. Explorer.exe, switches off in a second, when started thru TM.
I ran SuperAntispyware and it cleaned up a number of Adware cookies - no spyware or trojans.
All help is appreciated.

Hello & Welcome Mustang!
I seem to recall having this same thing happen to me a few years back. My resolution was to replace the fouled Server's shdocvw.dll file in Windows\System32 with the same file from an identical OS'd Server. You said you are running Windows 2003 Server? So am I, with SP2 applied. The details of my shdocvw.dll file are as follows: version 6.0.3790.4237 dated 02/16/2008 size 1.43 MB or 1,508,352 bytes

doesnt Advance System Care do a backup before it cleans or give you any options to role back?
