Hi I set up a group policy on server 2003 which limits user profiles to 15MB for each user. However since doing so Im having big problems. When users log off it keeps popping up saying user profile to big....after looking into this I found out that I keep getting big *.tmp files in the local users profile which is the reason im getting this message as there is not a lot else in the users profile.

Why is it that im getting tmp files and how can I stop this?? Help!! All computers on the domain are xp service pack 3

Many Thanks
Phil

Hello Phil,

the .tmp file is a temporary file. chances are this is where the user temp internet files, unsaved .doc files and other unsaved info is going. I don't believe there is a way to stop the .tmp file but maybe someone else can let us know. 150mb is a small file size. one solution you could do is have your users run CleanUp! after every use. that way the .tmp files were be emptied.
