Default Server sometimes shuts down during boot

Hello,

I can't decide whether this is hardware or software! It's an ASUS AP1720-E1 running 2003 std SP2 and on every 5 or 6 reboots it gets as far as just getting to the GUI and it shuts down abruptly with no blue screen. Nothing in the event viewer. I have tried reapplying service pack 2, tried updating graphics drivers. It's very frustrating as it's so intermittent. I'm afraid to reboot the server remotely in case it happens. Once it's up its stable.

What do you reckon?

Hi
Try downloading SpeedFan and see if all the fans are connected to the CPU and GPU and are working correctly. This might be a case of overheating. But we will just start ruling things out first.

Download Here: http://www.almico.com/speedfan434.exe

Thanks for the suggestion but all fans are OK and CPU's are running within normal temp range. Currently 55c.
