Unhappy [Pending] folders don't open....please help!!

Ok here's my problem. I have windows 2000 pro. It starts up fine and all even connects to the internet but when I click on the internet explorer icon on the desktop nothing happens and also when I click on the my computer or my documents icon on the desktop the window goes blank and the icons and task bar diappears for a second and comes back....I don't know what to do please help me if you can....oh and by the way I'm posting this from my tmobile sidekick.

It's been a long while since I worked with Windows 2000. But I believe Windows 2000 does have a repair install option. What I would do is try a repair install of Windows 2000. That way you leave your file system intact and just get the OS back in shape. I would imagine in your case some sort of system file(s) is/are corrupted.

This is all going on the assumption the computer is free of malicious software that may be causing the problem.

I would agree... sounds like Windows Explorer may be corrupt-- if it's corrupt you get all kinds of errors

ok fixed.....i added more ram and a new hard drive and installed ubuntu instead! Works well!
