Unhappy

ok i clicked on that link and it downloaded like before, but as it is preparing to install, it stops and shows a dialog box: title bar says windows installer---this installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that it is a valid windows installer package. then an ok button
i tried offline and online packages, none worked.
what is it about this computer that won't accept java? i tried googling for it, but i just can't find anything....please help me.

oh by the way, when windows starts it asked which operating system you want to load....and there are two windows 2000 professional, but one won't load...how did there come to be two? i only installed it once and isnt the other one just taking up space on the hard drive?

Wich is the working one? The top one, or the bottum one?

Go to start/run and type c:/boot.ini , then copy the contents of the text file that comes up to a post here please.

Remove the line in bold:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microso ft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT="Microso ft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect

And that prob should be gone.
