There is a way of doing it, I am trying to find the relivant information at the moment.

Check out these sites in the mean time:

Basically you can set it up to block port 80, 443 or anything else to all destinations, except the few that you want to allow.
Runs on the workstations themselves (win2k,xp or 2003) so even if they do install their own browser, they won't get anywhere.

In the standard GPO I don't think you can do this. And I also would not advise to do this at this level.

But I would block the access on the level of the internet access; router, firewall or proxy server.
The easiest is to configue this on a ISA server since you can define rules and policies for outgoing traffic based on users or groups in your AD. So you can also difine a group whith unlimited access... :knowing: .

There are firewall's who also use AD authentication but these are quite expensive and complex to implement.

If you block on the level of Firewall or Router make sure you don't block the antivirus-updates and the windows-updates.

I hope this is helpful.

could always set up a proxy server or a dns server with just one entry to the site you want.... that would do it as well
