This might be a common question but i cant seem to find my answer in google.

I have windows server 2003 with gigabit lan with an external drive.

Now the main issue is i cant copy large files. It started out of nowhere after months of good running. When i copy to any machine either using windows explorer or ftp i cant seem to copy large files.... iso's of movies mainly. I can mount it with daemon tools and watch it fine. But when i try to copy it through filezilla or explorer it kicks it back saying disconnected.

Small files copy fine. I tested 50 100mb files and they all copied fine.

Any ideas?

hey claygorman, is the drive formatted in FAT32? Anything other than NTFS has a file size limit of 4GB.

It is a terabyte in size and comes from the factory NTFS and alot of my images are less then 3.5 GB

Wait, does it connect to your computer via LAN or USB 2.0/IEEE 1394 (firewire)

i connect to it over lan but it disconnects from the usb of the machine its hooked up to and in turn disconnects from the network

Can you transfer files to it from the computer its actually plugged into?
