Default Timeout options?

Hi there,
I'm running a simple network with win2k3
no domain just a workgroup (never dealt with a domain before)

my server role is to just store my music, pictures and so on. i have 2 other pc's that connect to this server (in home based)

anyways my question is when i log into my server and view files then when i close the explorer i would like my session to timeout or i would like my session to timeout after like 2 min.

multiple people use the same computer that connects to the server,
i want it so that when someone else uses the pc they won't have access to all my files on the server.

does this mean i have to set up with a domain?
if so is there something that i could read up on like a step by step?

i also would like to gain access through the internet to my server which i am unable to ping over the net as of right now.
but thats another issue....

if anyone can help that would just be awsome....

I thank you in advance....
Filo
