Hey Phil,

You can indeed. Right click on the folder you want to restrict, and go to Properties, Security tab, followed by Advanced at the bottom of the page. Add or click on the user you would like to restrict, and then Edit, and leave them with Traverse, Execute and Read permissions shoud do the trick.

Hi thanks for the reply.

So for instance I have a folder on the server which contains folders for each of the classes in my school. Basically each of these folders is where I have set "My Documents" to redirect to for each class profile. Now once they open the the my docuents from there profile I want it to contain severals folders showing each childs names so that when they save work, it can only be saved under a childs name rather than in the main folder itself. I hope this makes sense. Basically the problem im having is that children are trying to save their work and tend to be dragging and dropping childrens folders into different places which is what I want to prevent. So would this work for this situation?

Many Thanks

Default Re: Folder Permissions

Ahh, not quite, unless each of the children have their own logon accounts, and then those permissions can be set for each folder (as they won't be able to move it to a folder they don't have access to).
