Default Mapping network drives with login scripts

Server 2003 with all service packs. All PC's with XP SP2

When creating login scripts on the server, everything works fine until such time that I have to change the script. If I remove an entry or change where the drive points to, it retains the original settings. i have checked that the changes I have made to the scripts are there which they are.
It looks like the settings are being kept on the PC somehow. Even using the delete option in the scripts doesn't work!

This is driving me mad!!!
