Default Help resolving user settings permissions to run Tasks

Hi,
I could really use some help with a possible User/Permission conflict in Scheduled Tasks.

I am using a standalone PC at home. AMD Athlon XP 2400+ Using windows 2000 Professional Service Pack 4 (build 2195)

It was originally part of a network connected to a server at my work.

I have tried to run Spybot search and destroy and Adaware 2007 through Scheduled Task but am getting the same errors "STATUS: Could not start"

My fear is, whilst tinkering about regarding a previous dll issue, which has now been resolved (through this forum, thanks), that I may have possibly changed some user account info causing a conflict

I have run Belarc Advisor which shows that I have 2 local user accounts??? Is this causing a conflict?

Users
Local user accounts Last Logon

Administrator 16/09/2007 23:25:00 (admin)
Standard 16/09/07 20:54:56 (admin)

Local system accounts Last logon

ASPNET never
Guest never

In the Properties of Spybot under Task is a box by "Run As:" which has "STANDARD\standard" in it

Ctrl/Alt/Delete brings up the windows security box which states "Standard is logged on as STANDARD\standard" is this the same as "Standard",one of the local user accounts shown above?

When I checked the security tab in Properties there are 3 listed?

Administrators (STANDARD\ Administrators)
Standard (STANDARD\standard)
SYSTEMS

All have full permissions when I highlighted them

I noticed that it is "Administrator" in Local User account (see above) but "Administrators" under the security Tab.

Basically can anyone deduce from above what I need to do to get Scheduled Tasks to run these programs? And do I have a user conflict issue? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Am i certain ? no...
but it sounds as if there could be a user account issue.
there are many ways to set/reset permissions-- especially for a PC that used to be in an office network

How to set, view, change, or remove special permissions for files and folders in Windows XP

Hi guys...
movieman, STANDARD is your domain that you're on? Or the computer name?

The username STANDARD\Standard is the same as Standard - but it's got the domain/computername there too. This is also the same as Standard@STANDARD
All 3 methods will log you on with the same username.

Administrator is the user, Administrators is the user group.
SYSTEM is just the system itself, and is required to be there.

Are there any further error messages that come up with task scheduler?

Haven't got a clue GaRHaR,
All I can confirm is that Ctrl/Alt/Delete brings up the windows security box in Windows 2000 Professional ,which states "Standard is logged on as STANDARD\standard"

I have tried "Administrator" in the "Run AS: box when I tried to set up a new task for Spy bot search and destroy in Scheduled Tasks and it shows the application running in Scheduled Tasks when the time event triggered it, but in reality the program was not. Checked Task Manager and the application wasn't running in the background.

It continues to show the application running in scheduled Tasks for as long as I leave it, even though it isn't.
Confused from London UK????

My apologies sir-- 2000 and XP are both based on Windows NT...
I would have to check permisions in 2000 myself.

I misread your 1st post
