Cool [Pending] windows 2000 pro. startup error

can someone please help me?
i got my computer from a friend it was given to me because she could not figure out what was wrong with it. first of all its a packard bell so that should tell you somthing there. anyways the bios had a password that neither of us new so i switched the jumper to clear the password and now when i start it up it boots fine but when windows starts i get a stop error and it tells me to check the startup guide that i do not have. so can anyone give me piece of advise? thanks in advance

Hello dez,

Welcome to PCHF.

Can you please give me some information about the stop error which will narrow down the problem. Specifically, the area's I've highlighted in red on the example below. I know this BSOD only lasts a few seconds, but this information is very important.
