my 6 month evaluation of server 2003 has 4 days til it runs out so i decided to reinstall my previous windows wich was xp pro. wen i put the disc in 4 options sho however the option askin to install xp pro doesnt light up and u cant click it. also the wen i go into the check system compatibilty the option to do so isnt lit up. i wondered if thers a way to solve this/find the files wich make the installation run an force it or if xp can even b installed over w2k3. by installin xp i want to save all my previous files wich means i cant do it from boot up

Sorry ultim8stoner, you can't install an older version of Windows over a newer version. You will need to install from bootup. Can you access 2003 to put the files you need onto disk or CD?

hmm....i cud put them on disc but its around 7/8gigs of files and i only hv a cw-rw not dvd

well anyway thx thats all i needed to kno. i guess ill copy stuff to another harddrive then copy back wen its runnin on xp
