Default Error loading operating system

hi hears the problem im having ,

i formated my hard drive and know i turn on my laptop and i get a message saying Error loading operating system, i have a dell latitude 600c. windows 2000 pro was my operating system, also i can accsess the bios and setup. if any one has any help i would apreciate it.

If you are OK to reformat, performing a "low level format" can resolve this issue.

Another way of doing this, if you have a windows startup disk with fdisk on it. Use it.

At the prompt, type: fdisk /mbr

ok hears the deal though,

when i turn the laptop on it goes through the dell symbol with the press f 12 for to bios, then it goes straight to the error screen.,

When you go into BIOS, is your boot priority device the floppy?

Also, have you updated the BIOS at all?

Finally, what was the last thing u did before this problem started?

no i havent updated and last thing i did has went to the c drive and clicked format
then i used erd commander disk wipe. were do i get a low level format program
