Default OS Problem

I bought a used hp omnibook 6000 laptop form work. I had to put a new hard drive on it. It's desgned for Win2kpro and I don't have a start up cd (No floppy drive.) What do I do, or where can I find a download for Win2kpro

I also have a IBM think pad with Win2k on it, but I don't have a startup cd for that either. Is there a way to make a startup cd from the IBM and use it to reformat the HP?
Thank for your help,
BJ Nimm

Hi JB Numm, and welcome to the PCHEF!

First of all, if your computer is designed for Win2k, it will work perfectly - if not better - with Windows XP.

Unfortunatly, you won't be able to use your current version of windows, as you'd need to purchase another liscence for it.

Windows XP is fairly cheap, and it much faster then 2kPro

Hope this helps.
