Default Computer keeps rebooting and BSOD

My computer keeps rebooting or gives me a BSOD, I have 1 gig ram, ATI 128 Rage Pro, 40g HD, DVD/Rom, CD/CDRW, 1.3 Mhz AMD processor. If I don't do anything at all after boot, it either reboots automatically or gives me the BSOD, saying disable shadowing, etc in bios. Please advise. Hope you can help. Oh yes, I am using Windows 2000, with SP 4 installed. Thanks in advance.

Howdy wacther,
Have you tried going into your BIOS and loading safe defaults? To get into your BIOS try hitting the DEL key or esc. then on the right hand side it should say press F etc key to load BIOS defaults. If you can look around for the BIOS shadwoing you can disable it and see if it helps.

Hey there watcher,

Follow asa_sniper's advise, and if they doesn't help then check to see whether you system is overheating, you can do this by opening your case and making sure that you fans are still spinning. Also put your hand on the outlet at the back of the PC and see if you can feel any air blowing.

Next time you get the error message could you try write the whole first part of the message out for us.
