Red face [Pending] win2000 server booting problem

hi

i have a dell inspiron 5100 P4, 2.4GHZ, 512 MB Ram, 40GB drive (4gb free space) with Windows 2000 server. I have a wireless net connection with a cable modem.

When I try to run spybot s&d, or some other scan program, the system abruptly shuts down. This happend even when I am downloading a large file from the net.

When I am rebooting the system it takes an awful lot of time to boot, say 20 minutes or more. or sometime while booting it just shuts down. By shuts down I mean, the system powers off.

Lately, while booting I see that some program with a window minimize and close button appears on the screen and keeps on flickering as if the program is executing. and I see that it has a title 'HO.exe'. I just see that window title bar. This program seems to run endlessly and the system shuts down completely after about 10 minutes during a reboot.

After I try several times (by disconnecting the power cord and battery) I will be lucky if the system actually boots up.

I have tried Hijackthis, regcleaner, to find out what it is, but no luck.
Cannot run a full scan for spywares, because the system shuts down.

Pl. help. Thanks in Advance

Hya Dapra69.

Can you do a search for HO.exe and upload it to this site if you find it:

http://virusscan.jotti.org/

And report back the result , and can you also post an Hijackthis log?

Also i would recommend to create some more free space , 10% free space is not very much and could cause problems.
