I have no idea if this is in the right place but...

I was given a very old laptop by a friend. It's a Compaq Armada 7710MT. Its obviously at least 10 years old and extremely short on Ram and storage. It has Windows ME loaded and has modems installed. I know he used it for internet and printing etc It has 12" screen plus interchangeable cd/floppy drive. White casing and very good looking condition actually.

I havent really used it but it seems to work still from the few times Ive switched it on and poked around. Charges still and runs on battery power, although Im not sure how long for!

Question; is it any use to anyone these days? Is it worth selling? I have no idea of its worth tbh. It does have a cute little leather case though that I use for my media book!

Any advice appreciated(especially if you want to tell me its a collectors item worth hundreds...)

There is on on a display case next to the building's entrance, it's kind of nice looking.

If you plan on downloading staff from the net, it can come handy-and you can always give LINUX a chance....

It is actually an attractive design (see attached). Thick set and heavy compared to todays laptops. I read an article which implied it would have cost $4-5000 back around 1997! Im impressed its still working so well. The casing has certainly stood the test of time well.

I have enough recent computers already so I dont plan on using it myself. I was just curious about its worth today. It still has practical use too although Im not familiar with the old style connections. Maybe it has use for its parts?

Whatever, I shall indeed keep the leather case.

If it has the ethernet adaptor then look at Ubuntu.

At the very least it'll increase your knowledge in that direction
