Hello, I have an AST Ascentia J Series P20 Laptop, I have noticed that for the last week that the battery is NOT taking in any charge. Usually, when the amount of electricity in the Lithium-ion Battery gets VERY LOW, the screen goes black but the laptop stays on. But now, the laptop's battery is almost out of power. Hello Dude I will say the same to you as I have said to several others lately.
I would take the machine and the charger along to a local small computer shop who will test the charger and the battery for free.Larger shops would try to hang onto the machine and charge you. Or do you have a friend or family member who may have a multi charger you can borrow and see if the battery charges using it.If the battery charges then you know your charger is the issue not the battery. If the multi charger doesnt charge the battery then we are almost safe to say the battery has lost its life usage. If battery or charger is the issue then you need to buy new. Or one option does the machine run off AC while the battery is removed? Jelly Bean.

Well, i noticed the power connector on the laptop was bent up a little bit, so I opened it up. I got a flat-tip screwdriver and pushed down on the tip enough just so the power cable would fit. And I noticed the Charging Symbol came up on the little LCD screen.
