Windows 95, 98 & ME - Unable to Boot Laptop posted in the Operating Systems forums; Hello, I am trying to boot a Compaq Armada 3500 with a Bootdisk and it says that its starting Windows 95, BUT....... It just goes to a Command Line and ...

Exclamation Unable to Boot Laptop

Hello, I am trying to boot a Compaq Armada 3500 with a Bootdisk and it says that its starting Windows 95, BUT....... It just goes to a Command Line and don't know what to do. I think the Hard Drive is Currupted.

Is W95 installed already? If so then why do you need a bootdisk?
If you're trying to install it off a CD then type D:/setup (or whatever the drive letter and setup file is called)

Well, Its already Installed, but then it will go to a Invalid Disk screen

Mmm...well this is an old laptop, the HD could have very well failed. The good news is that if you go on ebay you can get an HD that is comparable to the size of the old one (not more than 2gb I imagine) for only a few bucks
