Default Problems reinstalling with Gateway Windows 98 OS System with Disc

I have an old Gateway VX720 that my daughter uses. She was having all types of problems so I erased everything on the computer and began using my Windows 98 reinstall CD. I put in the Windows System Restoration CD, it starts saying copying files, etc. (remember I wiped out everything and told it I wanted to reinstall the OS). It then stops and tells me to take out the CD from the drive and it will reboot. It reboots and then asks for the Operating System Restore CD. I noticed that my System Restoration CD states "partial" restoration and I keep getting stuck when I my System Restoration CD back in when it asks for it after the reboot. Is it possible that there is a CD actually called the "Operating System CD" which may be disc 2 or something for this? If so, I must have lost it and understand I can't get another copy from Gateway. I purchased something from bootdisk.com that everyone talks about, but the compter won't recognize it, probably because it just wants this Operating System Restore CD. If I'm missing a CD, does anyone know how I can get it. I have my certificate of authenticity stuff, etc. so this is not an issue. I am just wondering if I am missing a CD or what the problem is! Please help.

Do you have two different disks?

To me it sounds like you are using a restore/repair disk that often comes with OEM computers. I would double check whether or not this is the case. If it is an actual Windows OS disk try this link for installing: How to Install Windows 98 on a Computer with No Operating System
