Hello, I am using win 98se. Under internet options what is the significance of Override Automati Cookie Handling? Under the Advanced Privacy Settings my First Party Cookies is checked with Accept as is the Third Party Cookies..Is this the correct setting? Or are the other options better? Thanks

What is the version of your browser - presumably Internet Explorer ?

(Help / About)

Also, Win98SE !
Have you considered upgrading to Windows XP ?

Hi Jellybean, that box is unchecked..I guess my question is: do I allow first party cookies and third party cookies...those boxes are checked..but there are other options block, prompt and always allow session cookies.

Its a matter of personal choice really.
Basically, are you happy for web sites to track your visits, etc.

Personally, I allow/permit first party cookies always and deny/forbid third party cookies always.
I also have my browser set to delete all cookies every time I close it, but this is again down to personal choice.

o.k., I will do what you Jelly Bean and Cyberdyne suggested..however in order to block the third party cookies i had to check the the override box, I assume that will be o.k. I know this wasn't a major question, I was pretty much just curious about the cookies..Thanks
