Smile aol skin

i just rescued my old win98 computer.
the free aol disk had put a skin on the network ability.[i cant get on the internet].
i tried to remove anything connected to aol but i still cant get on.
this is both in dialup & cable.
any ideas?

My memory of win98 is rather old, but...
Idea 1: Create a new network connection from the control panel.
Idea 2: Since win98 doesn't require activation approval from Microsoft, I would reinstall win98 if you still have the original disks. This should negate AOL's software.
