I have an old computer (pericom) with a pentium (R) microprocessor 100 MHz I want to use the computer just for word processing so I decided format the hard disk and start again- I prepared a boot disk, formated the hard disk. I am now in the situation where the computer will not recognise any system disk. I down loaded other bootdisks with CD drivers from bootdisk.com. To add to the confusion – the machine is English however the last installed version of Windows 95 was in French – I have the CD Windows disk. When I boot the machine up all the initial messages are in English – however the message concerning non system disk is in French. Are boot disks language sensitive? Before I send the computer to the scrap yard -Any ideas how I can get it back in service?
Hi I would delete the partitions on the C drive using fdisk and reformat the C drive You can do this with a windows 9X boot disk. I'd say the boot disk is in french this is why the text is in that lingo.
