i can't get windows to come up. Using boot disk from bootdisk.com and starting in Safe Mode I get the "c:\>" . What do I do now? I am pretty sure the files are there, but when I type windows.exe I get the "bad command or file name" response. Please advise. Jim G

Hello Jim,

Sounds like something has corrupted the Master Boot Record. Try FDISK/MBR at the command prompt then see if windows will boot...To see if windows will launch, type C:\windows\windows.exe or win.exe...I forget which. The reason you get the bad command error is because the windows path is not set in the Autoexec.bat file.
