When starting up his computer, my co-worker receives the following error.

Windows has detected a registry/configuration error..

Choose command prompt and run SCANREG

file missing or corrupted

C:\windows\himem.sys
error in config.sys file on line 1

C:\windows\dblbuff.sys
C:\windows\ifshlp.sys
C:\windows\dblbuff.sys

C:\windows\EMM386.exe
error in config.sys file on line 2

cannot find WIN.COM

also
highmem area not available will use low mem instead.

Please help me help him
Yes it is an old computer on an old OS, but he's older than all of us combined.

We do not have a copy of his OS readily available I believe it is windows 98

Seems like you need a Win98 disc to re-copy the files from
