Default FLOPPY DISK How to question

Hi everyone, great site as you all know. I am not very computer savy to say the least so I always come here for advice and help. I have 1600 songs downloaded on my computer and stored in my "RealPlayer". I want to know if I can store these songs on a Floppy Disk and if so I need step by step help in exactly how I would go about this. I have no idea if I can even store song files on a floppy disk or not, like I said I am not too computer smart. Any help is appreciated.
Thanx,
Jim

Hi all, I did a little research and see that this is a STUPID and OUTDATED idea (I did say I didn't know much about computers). I see now an external hard drive that can plug into my usb port is the way to go. Any ideas on which is best, this comp. is old and I am running Windows 98 on a Gateway Performance 500 model comp.. I await your input

you can store files on a floppy but a floppy can contain at maximum 1.44 MB
A normal song in MP3 is about 3 MB so you'll need 3200 floppy's for 1600 songs
Better is to use a CD and burn some favourite songs (a CD can contain up to 25 songs)
Some cdplayers can also play DVD's, a DVD can contain hell of a lot more songs!

Owh, you already posted again

Ehm...an external HDD is a good option, with Win98 you'll need to install a driver for it but that is quite easy.
If you want to buy one I would recommend you take a known brand like Seagate or Western Digital (or Maxtor, this brand has some easy to use externals under the name Maxtor One Touch).
But maybe there are other options known by other members...

Thanx robin, alot of my music is allready on cd's I am looking to have a back up to what I have on the computer just in case something happens to it. I lend and borrow alot of cd's with friends because it's much faster than downloading alot of the time, I can get whole cd's in a few minutes without searching Ares Ultra for songs. I am going to ask about external hard drives now. Thanx for your help, my new computer is gonna have dvd burner when i get it this X-mas
