Windows 98-SE, 150GB HD, Athlon XP 1600

I screwed up somewhere after installing Partition Magic and trying to move some things around between the three partions. Fortunately I had made a complete backup of the HD the day before using Ghost 2003.

Decided to reformat the HD and put in 3 partitions and reinstall 98-SE with untimate plan to also install XP in dual boot situation.

After reinstalling 98-SE and reinstalling Ghost 2003, I tried to recover using the Ghost backup images. The result is the remark: "Boot disk not on "C" drive."

Can't find any remedies by searching. Help please!

The first suggestion I can make is to boot with your 98 disk in the CD drive and boot into DOS with CD support. Then open up Fdisk and make sure that your c:\ drive is flagged as the boot partition.

After that i'm not sure where to go, I've had a similar problem with Ghost 2003 with an XP drive and could not get it resolved for anything.

Hi welcome to the forum Are the ghost images bootable from memory they are well the last time I made them they were. Will it boot of the ghost images and restore that way? I have allways done it this way. And at worst you could use that tool in ghost to exploer the images and get your data that way.
