I have an old GW2K 1995 PC that I want to get up and running for my mom. I have had the hdd wiped by a pro...his words, wouldn't be mine

but I cannot for the life of me get past this merry-go-round of error messages. Yes I am slightly computer savvy, I rebuild the old thing off and on over the years and had no problems til now.
I keep getting 2 messages. With any disk in any drive I get: Remove disks or other media.
Without a disk I get: Invalid system disks. This happens even if I try another disk in too including win98update disk.
I have original Win 95, 98 upgrade and 98 year 200 update disks as well as the original win 95 system cd from Gateway. I AM a packrat I know. So the hdd is up and recognized, and so is the floppy. Not so for the cd rom even when I choose it first for boot in the BIos. YUP familiar with the BIOs too... so I was thinking of taking out the internal battery for 24 hrs and seeing if that helps the BIOS at all. The next step is trying to get the cd up again. It was up and working till someone helpful (not on this forum that's why I'm here!!) told me to put floppy as first bootable so I did...

and now here I am with a computer that boots up fine, but stalls after booting up the hdd and the floppy...heeellllppp!

Gotta go, the kid needs the computer for summer school homework...oh where oh where did my laptop gp...oh where oh where could it be?? Will it ever come back from old HP? Oh where oh where can it be? (singing softly while banging head hard)
