Question [Resolved] Window 98se has stopped showing the red colour

Hi
I have a friend age 83 with windows 98se 128ram. he only plays cards or writes his memoirs on this machine.
lately he has noticed that the colour red no longer show when palying cards. All other colours are ok
any suggestions on what might be causeing this.

Hi Gandalf,
Sorry on the delay on getting back to you
I cannot tell you if the machine has video card, I do know that Pc has
MS-6178 Micro ATX WH5 Mainboard with Intel celeron processor
if this is any help
pc is 50klm away will not see till next week,

Your problem will probably be either with the monitor or the video card (if there is one). If you look at the back of the computer, there are two places in which the monitor can be connected. If it is connected to the motherboard, then there is not video card.

If there is not video card, then I would check the settings on the monitor. If adjusting the monitor controls does not resolve the problem, then you probably have a bad monitor.

If there is a video card, let us know and we will address that issue.

Hi Gandalf
just getting back to you on this issue No video card was present. Picture was ?(fizzing out with weird noise) in Unit. I Changed the monitor and problem was solved. I tried to get machine to crash after replacement of monitor but could not. my 83 year old is happy again he can now play cards again with colours
