Okay mate, prehaps should've gone with this in the first place as it's significantly easier.

download Lavasoft and let it update, now boot into safe mode and run it this should get rid of it., then I recommend following the prework link i gave in my first post and posting the resulting logs to make sure everything is clean

EDIT: Just a note: Make sure you run full system scan, not smart system scan

Hi Lebowski. I ran Lavasoft totally updated as you said, it caught the trojan zlob but when I restarted the little blinking icon was still there, reran it a second time again in safe mode . It showed it once again and this time I deleted it instead quarentining and when I rebooted it was still there ,I ran it again and kept it quarentined and rebooted and it's still there !!!!!!!!!!!
Wow is this driving me nuts!!! Thanx for trying.
Jim

The only other thing I can suggest is delete it manually in safe mode (since it won't be in use) I'm not too sure since I've never dealt with it on windows 98.

I'm sure the security guys will be able to help a bit more than I have though

Is there an uninstall option in add & remove? I know this wouldn't remove it completely but may get rid of the main application and adaware will possibly get the rest

*Officially out of ideas*

I wouldn't know where to find it or what to look for when I'm in safemode, I guess I will have to live with it

Well, keep checking back, as i said, I'm sure one of the security team will be able to assist you on this a little more.
