Default Unable to install W98se

Hi
I have just been given an old desktop pc which will be used by my two youngest children, it is an HP Pavillion 3130, it was set up with W95.
I decided to wipe the hard drive, fdisk and reformat then re load but with W98 SE, I have a full W 98SE installation disk from another PC.
All has gone well with fdisk and formatting.
Problem is that now I would like to install w98 I am not able to locate the CD, the system boots from the floppy ok, to the A:\promt I have then tried to use half the alphabet as far as M but have still not located the cd, am I missing something, am i using the correct boot floppy to locate the cd rom, i created the floppy from within win 98 add/remove progs
would appreciate any help as its driving me mad....

Bootdisk.Com ReadMe's should have what you need

and please don't double post, all that does is seperate replies and annoy people.

Ok so as suggested i go to boot disk.com, i have downloaded the W98 boot disk, fdisk and formatted once again then downloaded the DOSCDROM floppy and installed as instructed on the help sheet, I then tried to load the W98 cd using all of the 4 optios that are on the screen, unfortunately none of them have got the CDROM working,
I have now found out the CDROM is a Tatung 1216 e, i downloaded the driver for that from DriverGuide.com,
after i click on run i am asked if i would like to unzip, i click yes and i am told that i have successfully unzipped 3 files,,
my problemi that i do not know how to upload these files from a floppy to the pc that i am trying to sort out, and make the cd detect the disk

Hello AndyPick

Welcome to PC Help Forum. The easiest way to install Win98 SE is to set the HP to boot from the CDrom first. Enter the BIOS by booting the HP then press ESC or F1 as the computer posts. When you get the BIOS menu find the option to boot first from the CDrom. Save this configuration the reboot. As you reboot put the Win98 CD in the drive. The CD should have a boot sector just like a boot disk. Be sure to use the boot with CD drivers option. Hope this gets you started.
