Hi guys. My son got into my mother's computer, which is a Win98 and changed the startup logo thing that you see when you're booting. Well, we want to change it back, but the computer has no logo.sys... so we tried creating one and adding in, but that did nothing. I've been looking around everywhere but can't find the place where it says what file to change it. (It's included in some other file, I think...) Does anyone know where that would be? I've looked all over google but I can't find it. =( Please help, thanks. Tam.

For it to work the logo MUST be 320x400 with 256 colours and renamed to logo.sys

The only thing i can thing of is if he used reshacker to change the boot logo (not sure if that was possible in 98 or not)

The 2 things i can suggest is asking him how he did it and we can probably point you in a better direction or right click on msdos.sys and uncheck read only then add the line Logo=0 or if "Logo" is already there, make sure its set to 0 to disable the boot logo completely.
