Im on a IBM 385CD oLder laptop. Im stuck after fdisking.Its saying to `create a MS-dos boot partition to set up windows.(if im using a HPFS or NTFS).Keep in mind that Im great at fixing computers but the knowledge in computer TALK I have is 1st Grade level.Hope some one can make this easy >>>>>>>

What OS are you trying to install?

You will need a primary partition normally and then if installing 98 it must be formatted as FAT - File Allocation Table.

Default ibm laptop Q:how 2 make comp boot from cd.I get in setup and NO OPTION for the cd boo

On this older IBM 385 CD laptop I get in the system setup and cant make cd boot option.Its not in the options???

Why not try grabbing a '98 boot floppy from our link partner bootdisk.com - the disk will load up the drivers dos requires for you to run the Windows installation CD.

Sorry to **** in, but does this mean that you can delete the first bit of the partition, if like me I have deleted Windows ME and installed Win 98 and getting some funny things going on when running Win 98. Would it be helpful to install another DOS system?.
