ok i found something out
i clicked the link mad matt and what i always did is saved i never tried hitting run.

well i hit run this time and it is writing it to the disk that has never happened before i guess because i always saved the file instead of running it.

hope this works.

ok well it is something knew cuz what i usually did was checked the a drive and what i had on my floppy was a single program saying 98se.exe now i got a bunch of files instead because i hit run. hopefully this will make some difference. i will report back

Hey Guys,

Isn't learning fun Whiskey? Listen, the CD you got for your old Compaq is more than likely a Restore CD, it includes all of the drivers, and programs, etc. to take the Compaq back to factory new settings. That CD isn't usable on anyother computer. It isn't a regular Operating System CD. That's why the Acer can't use it.

We'll be looking forward to hearing if your foray into burning a bootable CD has been successful. .
