Question Possible to use Windows 2000 Defrager in 98SE?

The Windows 98 SE Disk Defragmenter really sucks. The only way it works is if I run the computer in safe mode and have virtually nothing running otherwise it gets interrupted and restarts and basically will never finish.

I've heard that some people use the Windows 2000 Defrgamenter in 98? Is that possible? Is it a better alternative? and if so, how is it done?

Why not grab this defragmenter for 98 here: |MG| Free Download - Diskeeper Lite 7.0 Build 418 - it works great!

^So that one is better than the Windows Defragmenter, and I won't have to close all my programs when I use it?

Almost any defragger is better than the one in win98, even the one in winxp leaves alot to be desired, and there are third party ones that work better. The one hengis gave you is good. As far as closing your programs, its always best to not have anything running when youre defragging.

The one good thing about Windows ME was the defragmenter in it. You could download it, it's much faster than the one in 98.
