Question [Answered] windows 98 driver problems

Alright, i took your advice and went and bought windows 98 from amazon. So my problem is when i installed 98... it wont let me adjust the display res. on my monitor which is an HP F1503. and it's reading my 60gig HDD as a 2gig. I'm not too sure what's going on, anyone have any ideas? I'm thinking it's all driver related, but i may have screwed up when using FDISK. Any help you can give would be awesome!

Thanks

Hi pumkinhead.

Who's advise did you actually follow? I personally wouldn't have advised you to buy Win98...as Microsoft has officially stopped support it.

Win98 also uses FAT32 which only allows for 32gb hard drives.

Ah, then you did the right thing by purchasing it.

You can fix it, but you'll have to use FDISK and remove all that you have installed and do it again.

It's been over 4 years since i last installed Windows 98, perhaps one of the other techs will be able to help you use FDISK a bit.

If it was a burnt copy of 98 Pumpkin, bin it immediately.
Get a fully licensed copy of 98 and then we can discuss what to do, is that ok with you?
I hate to see people waste money.

Sorry for the late reply pumpkin head...

I wouldn't go out and buy some osftware that windows supplies an alternative for free...

Have a read of this website here, it should tell you how to use fdisk
How to Use the Fdisk Tool and the Format Tool to Partition or Repartition a Hard Disk
