Windows 95, 98 & ME - [Pending] HELP dos fdisk posted in the Operating Systems forums; fdisk is a dangourous tool if your not sure what your doing. I'm still confused as to why you would have done this in the first place?...

fdisk is a dangourous tool if your not sure what your doing. I'm still confused as to why you would have done this in the first place?

The statement Create primary DOS partition says to me there is no Master Boot Record left to fix Madmonkey wouldn't you say?

Yep! Wait a sec, are you sure you didn't delete any partitions first? That would suggest that either the partition was deleted before, or there was space at the beggining of the disk to create a second partition? When in DOS, can you type:

d:
dir

To see if there are any additional partitions on the disk?

Either that or choose option 4 to view partitions like so: FDISK for DOS Partition

your right A partition was created, but not formatted, another lesson learned the hard way. so the option to delete partition won't help then anyway

I been playing around with pc for over 20 years, have not needed to edit or work in dos in years... I made a BIG Mistake. this wouldn't be such a big deal if I didn't ruin the the windows cd yesterday.
