Exclamation [Resolved] Worm or Reg?

Hi I'm New Here, but I'm glad I found this site.

Anyways this is how problems started.

Day Light Saving times ended and my computer changed the time and it must have restarted certian settings. Now malwares I thought I had removed had returened, aprantly they never left. So I open spybot and check off startup programs that were the trojans. (These trojans put my computer in stand-by mode after a certain time of not using it.)

Worse my registary screwed up, so I restart to MS-DOS mode and do scandisk, which I can't do in normal mode.

WORSER! My internet doesn't work b/c of zonealarm. So I uninstall it and b/c they discontinued ZoneAlarm for 98se, I install Kerio v2.1.5 from oldversion.com.

Now, all of a sudden. On friday, I discovered "My Computer" was displaying the Free Space and Used Space on all of my drives incorrectly (a problem I had before and took care of before). Then things got serious, apprantly my Windows Media Player won't open because wmp.dll was the wrong version.

I start to panic. Has a worm entered? or returned?

I update my Norton anti-virus, but I can't cause I have to resuscribe. I instead download AVG antivirus free versioin.

So, after many manual restarts and trials and errors. I get in safe mode (on sunday) and run the antivirus scan (which is updated). I have 5 trojans and my dates and file sizes are wrongly "displayed" (The 2nd problem was already fixed on the scandisk.)

Then a screensave comes up and it gets stuck like that. So I restart again, manually, which I do by pressing a button.

Now, my mouse is working inproperly (holds on a click and whatnot), some programs open b/c, which I suspect, have messed up root files. I can't even get my computer to recognize my digital camera. It worked properlly before.

I'm stumped, is this the work of a fast worm, or just a messed up registary cuased by a recent time change?

Okay, I found out why my screensave didn't go away in Safe mode. My keyboard and my mouse are disable in safe mode!

Now since my kodak camera wasn't recognized, Windows tried add it in that new hardware program. Still screwed up! So I'm uninstalling kodak to take my camera info off. Kodak is still here but not in the add/remove list.

I'm in pchell.

I have an amazing and fantastic solution for you. Find every file (if any) that you absolutely need to keep, find a way to keep those files (perhaps emailing them to yourself or even a file sharing website) and then format your hard drive and start fresh. I took a quick glimps at your 'my pc' and I suggest even going as far as building a new set. Good luck! And if you need any help formatting just ask and you will get an answer .

I think that will be our final, desprate solution. I've had this computer for way to long to all of a sudden start anew (we have old programs on it which we can't find anyware anymore and everything is just setup in a certain special way).

For now, I just wanna know what happened.

But first thing first, how do I get my mouse and keyboard to work in Safe Mode? It seems that some software or a registry problem is cutting them off.
