Default [Resolved] Micron PC vs. 98 SE

Hello, great site by the way...

Not for sure where to list this topic...Sorry.

Ok, here's the deal. Wife bought a Micron Transport LT Notebook. I have looked it over myself and installed (first) Linux...It had some quarks about it (even though sound and resolution sounded and looked great), she did not like it. Therefore I then setup 98 SE to it. Everything seemed normal except the resolution is stuck at 800 x 600 at either 2 or 16 bit. There is no sound at all from the laptop. So, I checked and there are missing drivers that will not install or I do not have. I have tried re-installing the disk. No luck.
Here is what I am finding...
(?) Other devices:
PCI Communication
Ethernet Controller
PCI Multimedia Audio Device

It is a: GenuineIntel x 86 Family Model Stepping 1
This is with a: Standard PCI Graphics Adaptor (VGA.Drv)

Can someone please give me advice before she decides to pitch it out the door. This unit by the way is NOT online. So I am using the other computer looking for answers.

Thanks.
Heinhq

Hi heinhq, welcome to the PCHF!

Sorry it's taken a day for us to respond to your request.
The issue is Windows 98SE doesn't have the required drivers to make your Network Card, Sound card or your Modem work.

Can you please post your exact model of the laptop, and we should be able to find the drivers for you so you can download them, burn them onto a cd, and install them onto the laptop.

Thank you for the response,

All I know it is a 90's Micron Transport LT (model #: NBK001566-00)
Uses Intel 82371 AB/EB PCI Bus Master IDE Controller
Standard PCI Graphics Adaptor (VGA)

I have tried looking for solutions. I hope you can help.

Need anything else, let me know.

Thanks,
heinhq
