Default [Resolved] what have you done dad?

hi all, heres the problem.my dad just bought a new computer, and gave me his old one.very nice.it runs on windows 98.before he handed it over he decided to delete a load of stuff off it.unfortunately he's trashed the system too.theres loads of stuff missing and i cant get anything to work.my own pc runs on xp,so ideally i'd like to convert this one to xp too.i've got a corporate edition of xp with an installation program thats supposed to do it all for you but this wont work on it either.so in a nutshell, how do i wipe it all clean and stick xp on it.many thanks in advance, keith

Hi Keith. Welcome to the forums.

First thing, can the PC run windows XP at all? How old is it and what are the specs?

Secondly. To install XP, boot off the CD...it does everything for you in an easy to follow question based install.

Id suggest that also.

You should be able to boot off etiher windows xp or 98 as the boot disk.
